I am beginning to work with 2D finite element analysis, and I am following Jin's book on FEM applied to electromagnetism. I already passed chapter 3, which deals with 1D problems and everything was OK. However, for 2D the author says that the mesh should have some characteristics, but fails to provide some kind of strategy/algorithm for creating the mesh (or at least, I have not been able to find it). Thus, I would like to hear your suggestions regarding the matter, and any pointers would be appreciated.
Ps: I was thinking about either creating an algorithm for a uniform mesh, or using some kind of optimization strategy (e.g. GA, PSO, etc.) for assigning the area to the elements.
