I am culturing menstrual blood msc and Wharton's jelly which do not grow well and die in part 4 and 5, especially Wharton's jelly does not grow well. While all the conditions are the same as passage two and three and nothing has changed and there is no contamination because other cells grow well with the same conditions and culture medium.
In our lab, umbilical cord msc can be passaged until P17 and may be more, as we stop at P17.
Your P4 and P5 might be contaminated by mycoplasma, you can check using special kit or PCR, as mycoplasma contamination do not cause changes in culture medium, it seems OK, no medium turbidity or colour change, but the cells seem reluctant to grow, and sometimes you can see cells that are weird in shape.
As mentioned by Jeanne see if the cultures are contaminated by mycoplasma as this would cause the cells to not grow
