How can I calculate the feed unit by kg of dry matter (Unité fourragère Leroy), the gross energy (kcal/kgOM), the digestibility of energy (dE), the Digestible energy, the metabolizable energy (ME) and digestible crude protein (dCP) in vivo digestibility essay.
You can use bomb calorimeter for energy calculations. Digestibility can be calculated by doing 7 days metabolic trial.
Dear Dr Pankaj, the bomb calorimeter don't give the metabolizable energy. how can I calculate the metabolizable energy with the gross energy, the dry matter, the organic matter, the crude protein, the non-nitrogenous materials, the total ash, fat, ADF and NDF and their digestibility.

you should perform a digestibility trial with total feed and fecal analysis. to reach metabolizable energy content collection of urine and estimation of methane emission is also needed. Energy content of feed (gross energy, fecal energy and urine energy can be measured using bomb calorimeter.
