There are reports and complain on the non implementation of rulings of the courts and other dispute settlement bodies which are in favor of the local communities affected by these environmental pollution in the Niger Delta Nigeria. Does any one has any information on the above assertion. Whether in the form of book or Article, journal or caselaws.
The article by Frynas (1999) provides some evidence and empahsises reason most cases do not get to court in the first place - the difficulty of Environmental litigation in Nigerian. This is why communities now institute lawsuits in Europe and America, rather than locally. I also recommend an article that documents various environmental policices and legislations relevant to the management of the Niger Delta environment (Adekola et al 2012). I hope this helps.

Enforcing court judgments is problematic in a range of jurisdictions because sometimes there are inefficiencies in the monitoring mechanism which mean that those affected have to go back to court, effectively bringing a second case in order to try an achieve a remedy. Where the affected group/community is poor, vulnerable and lacks access to legal resources this becomes a factor. You might find the following article useful:
