Hi everyone,

I've used MAUVE before to work with a set of bacterial genomes and had no problems. Progressive alignment was performed by using genbank (.gbk) files as input and I obtained a nice alignment and was able to find the topology of interesting genes.

But now I'm working in a new group and here I have to deal with a new set of bacterial genomes. The bioinformatician (a new one, and with who I can not contact) prepared draft genomes files as genbank (.gbk format), but this time, using these files as input data in MAUVE, annotations are not downloaded, so I can not work anymore.

My aim by now is comparing the existence of one specific operon in a set of 16 strains, cellulose synthase, and compare the sequence of the genes housed in each strain.

Do any of you have an idea why annotations are not being loaded? Do you know another tool similar to MAUVE I can use?

Thank you very much in advance
