This is my first time I will be using a Serum Free Media in my cell culture experiment due to vaccine development. I tried to ask to the commercial supplier regarding this, but mostly said that Serum Free Media is only suitable for suspension cell culture. I hope anyone could give me a suggestion or recommendation regarding to this, and is there any Serum Free Media that could be used for both CHO and HEK293T adherent cell culture?

Ham's F12 is the suitable medium for CHO cells. I've used the Ham’s F12 Nutrient Mix medium (GIBCO) for my CHO cells cultures.

F12 medium was originally developed for adherent culture of CHO, however, it has been shown that it could not maintain good growth without small amounts of serum proteins. As advice based on Freshney (2010), MCDB 301 is recommended for CHO culture
