Does anyone have a recomendation for methods on isolating phytoplankton/benthic diatoms from water/sediment for SI analysis using a centrifuge?

I would like to separate sediment/plant detritus from water tow/sediment samples in a way that does not involve adding any compounds that may influence the C, N, S isotope values. I am wondering if anyone has come across references for isolation using a centrifuge prior to filtration.
