Hi, I want to measure the total concentration of As (not the species) in rices cakes. Ideally I want to do this by microwave digestion and I need to know the mass to take, the total acid vol, max temp and duration of digestion. We have large vol digestion vessels. Many thanks.

I have an answer, you can quantitate or qualitatively measures arsenic with VOLTAMMETRIC & ICP methods, there are many application notes on this technology platform, indeed speciation too......

If you are using microwave, the equipment have different methods included in software. So you should select the standard method for heavy metals in food. Usually for digestion of organic samples used 5ml nitric acid and 3 ml 65% H2O2. It depends on the volume of sample.
