We are working with a memory enhanced rodent model with the idea to understand how memory is processed in brain and how different brain areas interact while memory is processed. We have observed that at least in part, BDNF is involved in memory enhancement in our model system. Therefore, we are exploring the possibility to obtain BDNF mutant mice and test the degree of implication of BDNF in this process. Since our initial test require 4 mutant and 4 wild-type mice, it is really too expensive and time consuming to get from Jackson and start colony.
