Does anybody know a source where I can learn how to write dispersal functions for PVA software VORTEX?

I'm planning to model dispersal among 7-9 different populations. For each inter-population movement I will need a different rate and different survival rate (if possible). Can anybody tell me how I can do it or show me a source where I can learn writing dispersal functions
