These days research articles are authored by many.
In such an article does all the co-auditors used to get the same credit as the first author for academic job or promotion?
Can more co-authors reduce the credit of the first author or not? How credits are divided among the authors in you country?

In our country Croatia till now if the paper in Journal is with 3 authors. First author and two coauthors, all of theme took benefit as the first author.

Here is a story told by the theoretical physicist Victor Weisskopf, who used the alphabetical order of authors all through his life:
'First of all, it was wonderful to work with Eugene [Wigner} and then there was another thing. This was my first paper of real significance. Of course, I am lucky with my name Weisskopf to work with somebody after me in the alphabet. So then I made a vow, and said that from now on I will, all through my life, stick to the alphabetical order whenever I publish a paper with somebody else. That was not always easy. For example, when I wrote a book that perhaps some of you remember, namely "Theoretical Nuclear Physics" by Blatt and Weisskopf, the publisher said it must be Weisskopf and Blatt. I told the publisher that I made the vow and I cannot do it. The publisher said "but we must sell the book." Finally, I did convince the John Wiley Company by telling them that if it is Weisskopf and Blatt, the emphasis is on Blatt and not on Weisskopf.' (Taken from http://ysfine.com/wigner/weissk.html)
In Japan, high energy physicists seem to like Weisskopf's method.

The arrangements should be according to the role of each author in the work presented in the article.
There are different "traditions" in different fields. Often the person who did most of the actual work (e.g. PhD student) will be first, but I know also cases where the working group leader is first. The following authors might be in alphabetical/constitutional oder or according to their contribution, or a mixed version. Especially in life sciences it is common that the working group leader is the last author in the list.
However, I think a lot of discussion about the position in the authors' list is driven by vanity. If it really matters (grants, CVs, cumulative thesis), there is always the possibility or even the need to quantifiy the individual contribution to each paper.

It depends on the contribution in writing a paper!
But, in India,
60% weight goes to first author and 40% weight goes to co-author.
For academic job promotion, some schools give the same credit to all the authors while in some schools, the credit/scores are divided with the first author having the 'lion share'.
To my knowledge, in Greece, all authors are credited equally. Ideally, every author must receive what he/she worths. The order of authors must have its meaning with a gradation of credit from the first (higher percentage) to the last author (smaller percentage), unless it is stated differently. There are Journals which request authors to state their contribution to the manuscript, and I find it surely good. In any case, the sum of credits (%) must not exceed 100%.
I think, credits to the various authors need to be published by publisher as per corresponding authors advice.
In India First Author and Communicating Author gets the equal credit i.e. 60% whereas other authors receive 40% of credit. I Think this system is right. The credit goes equally to first author and corresponding author, similarly equal to 40% to each co-author rather than as division
