We keep on discussing learning that remains continue till the end of life. Do you not think that true learning is by observing life carefully. The greatest book is the book of life which is full of so many uncertainties, etc.
It is necessary to build our house in this world on time-tested wisdom by study and action; knowledge is not enough, it is 'time-dependent' ('knowledge particles come and go'). The tree of life means the spirtual connection to the eternal upper force; we have to form and to develop our spirtitual soul in our living human body. It is a matter of good preparation for further travel or remaining in a vicious circle.

Dear Mahesh, Am fully agree with you with the statement “ true learning is by observing life”, and the greatest book is the book of life is Sri Mad Bhagavad Gita.
Nature is labelled as the best instructor and/or medium of learning. However, there are other means of learning that must not be underestimated. Learning is indeed life-long and it emanates from various areas. Learning from others... Mentorship and peer tutoring are all efficient means of learning... True learning.
The book of life is very important for our present and future lives. We cannot underestimate all other learning materials...
Yes I agree but observing that is not enough. We will learn better and become more experienced if we allow ourselves to be part of the life experiment. We gain more when we subject ourselves into it.
Book of life is the greatest teacher of all time, it teaches what no faculty, no institution, no parents, no friends and family could ever teach. It teaches you to survive discrimination, dishonesty, bribery, hatred, injustice, cruelties, prejudices of day to day life.
Hi Mahesh. I wonder what for you 'true learning' is? Is it learning that hurts (so that you will not willingly do something, 'make that mistake' again), or learning that changes your thinking, behaving, feeling to a different (better?) way of doing and being? It may be joyful. Ah! Now I see how to do this! There is learning by experience - however painful, unexpected or joyous - which I think is the most common and powerful - and there is learning by observation. There are one or two behaviours I have seen others do and deliberately copied because they were effective. Learning throughout the book of life is cumulative, and involves reflection and acceptance. It is likely to involve the forgiveness of others and self-forgiveness. What then if it won't/can't be given?
I don't think so, but it doesn't matter. To obser live seems a little boring for me. We don't learn or don't experience for life, we are the life, every individial.
absolutely right. all lessons we get can prepare us for life. all the knowledge scientists get is due to scant observation of nature and perceiving its lessons. life is a great university with different ups and downs; easy and complicated lessons. if we can get the points efficiently, we can be the best learners and users. the greatest book is the book of experience for happy life. best
