Nigeria is a multi-ethnic society hence the rise in the level of tribalism both in public and private sector, considering this level of discrimination how do you think tribalism has impacted on the effectiveness of our public enterprise?
The West African country has faced numerous internal problems several times throughout history, arising from religious, economic, and other differences that at the same time represent the wealth, but also a significant burden of this country. Although according to the IMF and the World Bank, Nigeria is the wealthiest African country, internal problems significantly contribute to disrupting the stability of a country with more than 200 million inhabitants. Nigeria’s past in particular, and the country has gone through numerous political crises throughout history. The most prolonged crisis refers to the southeastern part of the country, and just these days, the problem of that part of the country has become relevant again. Namely, there is a part of the state that was called Biafra during the civil war in the 1960s. The Igbo people, who live in the area, tried to gain independence during the 20th century due to growing dissatisfaction with the attitude of the central authorities.
