PETase can become a way to make our environment plastic waste free. With increase in production and use of plastic the waste created daily is a big problem. Adverse effect of plastic waste is well known. Degradation of plastic waste needs to be carried out in the fastest way possible.

Certainly PETase can significantly reduce the amount of PET waste, but there are still a few steps to follow so we can get a plastic-free world. From all accounts, these enzymes cannot break down all types of plastic. That is why it is necessary to find a wider class of solutions, given that the use of different types of plastic is increasing, despite the environmental problems that continue to occur. But the use of PETase at a larger scale would definitely benefit the environment, in terms of reducing PET pollution.
