I want to identify the tangible outcome of initiatives taken by state and central government in the area of women education and its contribution in favor or against the safety on Society.
I do agree Dr. Haque but there is also a probability that education also contributes in developing the positive mind sets and increase the capability of thinking about what is right or wrong? that leads to control the criminal mentality against women. So directly labor market effects with education and indirectly effects the crime. If government taking many initiatives to increase literacy rate then it may also help in reducing the crime.
Hello Kirti, I agree with what you wrote and I really prey that the outcome is how highlighted (positive mindsets and skills to know what is right and wrong). A more negative picture between education and crime (not only crimes against women) might be about frustration of young men who have attained good qualifications, which then often is not leading to good jobs. When I lived in India I -at times- had the impression that such frustrated youths hang around, often in gangs, and just get bored. Then rather pathetic ideas enter their brains... What also adds to the misery is alcohol....
Thanks a lot Weber Sir..for your valuable input. I do agree with your statement and the tendency of youth to disturb others or increase bad habits (alcohol consumption and smoking with bad company etc) especially when they are unemployeed. So crime must have direct coorelation with employment also....rather then education. I will research on the same.
