I gave up on the latest of technology used in the classroom. It comes with a price: sometimes it does not work, the internet is cut off, cables are mixed up by the previous instructor who left a mess, etc, etc.
I stayed with the basics such as power point presentation, occasional video and writing on the board with chalk or marker. Those last ones will always work!
according to socio-cultural theory of Vygotsky, learning and teaching can not happen in a vaccum . you should talk about the social, cultural and historical context of teaching/learning with their specific needs, facilities and resourced to see which one fits it. nowadays, there is no best method view. modern techniques can be applied in line with the specific context of teaching. lets give it a try.
We all try to apply the theories of learning, and use the modern facilities in teaching. I myself extended the time by the use of communication applications and e.classroom. I ask questions, display x.rays, and patients pictures of findings, and starts discussions with my students.
Teachers cannot close their eyes to dramatic advances in science and technology. Technological and digital applications can be used to enhance learners' engagement in the learning process and encourage them to make an optimal use of their self regulated strategies. The path towards self discovery is impossible without teachers' use of modern techniques in teaching .
@Michael Issigonis you are absolutely right, but we should never give up. we should put feet on the ground and fixed vision to sky... the things you mentioned should kept as an emergency lines, if the bad things you mentioned happened.
Definitely! Teachers need to consider the modern advancement especially technological advancement in learning and teaching and use them in the classroom to facilitate the learning and teaching process.
Of course. The use of modern technology in teaching is very useful for students. Teachers may use computers, smart boards, electronic audio visual aids, the internet and other kinds of media.
