since 2015 the plantations of Opuntia ficus-indica in my area and in many areas in Morocco are toatlement ravaged by a pathogen.
I conducted monitoring of the disease in plants, trees, fruits.
I'm looking for the pathogen. after exams is Dactylopius sp. coccus. Do you have a method of Opuntia ficus-indica pathogen determination?

Dear colleague,
squash it and if it becomes crimson, then it's cochineal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cochineal). This parasite is affecting Opuntia also in southern Spain.
