I believe science is one of the roots of religion. Nature plays an important role in the inception of the ecosystem and mankind. Before human beings formulates a specific path of societal system and beliefs which we will call it as Religion, the survival efforts are based on the 'common sense' which is the root cause of invoking the 'Science'. Later when the humankind became mature enough, the religious practices inherently based on the Science, which would anticipated to help to practice healthy life.
I think that both views are correct. In fact, history has shown (ex Galileo associated with a revolutin in science) that there has been a conflit between religion and science. But there are others that describe that exist an harmony between both, because lots of scientific discoveries were achieved by societies organized by religious traditions .
Science acknowledges reason while religions include faith and both are complex social and cultural endeavors that have changed through time across different cultures.
I view religion as the ultimate product of human mind searching for security, certainty and comfort in response to fear and discomfort of unknowns, uncertainties and chaos. There is ultimately some science in the base of every religion reflecting human experience and knowledge accumulated at the time. There are over 300 religions in the world, and the main religions practised today are primarily based on ancient oral literature, stories and history. Some religions took on more science on board and progressed better throughout the history, while others stuck in more dogma and less science, playing catch-up.
Science acknowledges reason, empiricism, and evidence, while religions include revelation, faith and sacredness whilst also acknowledging philosophical and metaphysical explanations with regard to the study of the Universe. Neither science nor religion are unchanging, timeless, or static because both are complex social and cultural endeavors that have changed through time across languages and cultures.
Most scientific and technical innovations prior to the Scientific revolution were achieved by societies organized by religious traditions. Much of the scientific method was pioneered first by Islamic scholars, and later by Christians. Hinduism has historically embraced reason and empiricism, holding that science brings legitimate, but incomplete knowledge of the world. Confucian thought has held different views of science over time. Most Buddhists today view science as complementary to their beliefs.
Yes existence of science is in the base of religion. May be not upto 100%. Religion is basically accumulated knowledge for the betterment of humanity specifically to support mankind, community and environment based on own learning, observations and sometimes realizations. May be many issues of religion is not true initially however proved later on. The matter lies between faith, belief and empirical validation and thus converted into knowledge.
Religion is a way of life; every religion has advised the society concerned to be aware of polarizing forces, and follow an ordered /organized way of life.
Science was ingrained in the religion as philosophy or philosophical thoughts. The Glorious Quran has on innumerable times censured humanity, not just the followers of Islam to think/ponder. Muslim scholars responded to the challenges posed in the Glorious Quran and quantified many such observations.
In my earlier publications I have suggested that the universality of phenomena, for example governance by attraction and repulsion likened to electromagnetic and gravitational forces, is observed at all hierarchies of the universe starting from the most minute in the cellular constituents of the smallest creatures to the widespread distribution of stellar bodies governed by intergalactic gravitational forces in the celestial environment or the ecosystem of the universe. This observation draws inspiration from the Quranic verse 6:59, which states that everything seen and unseen, is ordered and regulated through the governance system of Allah ﷲ based on His Eternal laws. The simplest as well as the most difficult things in nature are subsisted to His Eternal laws that have been clearly stated in the Gloroius Quran and were rediscovered, restated and quantitated much later in the 19th century. The fresh and the withered, living and lifeless are none of them outside the Plan of His ﷲ Creation.
Taking the example of the commonality of phenomena between physical sciences and social science, theoretically, it is discernible in the relation between Electromagnetism and theory of relative motion. The approach to correctly reconcile the theory of electromagnetism with the theory of relative motion in mechanics is predicted by Electromagnetism by considering a constant value for the speed of light, regardless of the speed one is moving at, while relative motion predicts it will be measured differently by different people moving at different speeds. To resolve this contrast, it is considered logical to state that nothing can go faster than light, and to that end the laws of mechanics may be suitably modified, if needed, so that light is always measured in terms of the speed it is at, in a vacuum no matter how fast one is moving. In case some object moves faster than light in a vacuum, the laws of physics will not describe the same object meaningfully (Akshat Mahajan https://www.quora.com/How-do-we-know-that-the-speed-of-light-is-the-fastest-possible-speed-in-the-universe?).
Quranic Interpretation of Energy par Excellence: Being the unique Creator, Originator, and Fashioner, the Quranic verse 59:24 describes Allah ﷲ as: “To ﷲ Allah’s attributes are not only goodness and power but also creative energy”. It is ﷲ He, as the ultimate of Eternal laws or Energy par excellence, i.e. Energy Infinite (Einfinite), who creates and cannot, be created, nor destroyed. This eternal law has been stated in the Glorious Quran and is restated as the First Law of Thermodynamics as follows:
Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only change forms,
In any process, the total energy of the universe remains the same.
In conclusion, religion emerged as and when societies thought of organizing the way of life. The knowledge of ﷲ Allah is all encompassing and multidimensional while the knowledge of mankind is limited to a few dimensions. The latter has to be blessed with some reflections of Reality on transfer of certain occult energy when it is in accord with His ﷲ will and Plan(1). Only few persons have been blessed with the occult energy in the form of revelations.
The revelations in the Glorious when subjected to the test of quantification are coming out to be in accord with observations.
As said earlier decoupling a certain quantum of energy equivalent of [(Equantum )n + Entropy)]; converting that energy into mass of particles of photons, protons and neutrons; formation of nebular matter and transforming into stellar bodies, has created the Universe. This according to the present hypothesis is implied by decoupling of a quantum of finite Energy (Efinite) or [(Equantum )n + Entropy)] by ﷲ the Noorun a’la Noor, or EnergyInfinite.
