"When most people think of ethics (or morals), they think of rules for distinguishing between right and wrong, such as the Golden Rule ("Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"), a code of professional conduct like the Hippocratic Oath ("First of all, do no harm"), a religious creed like the Ten Commandments ("Thou Shalt not kill..."), or a wise aphorisms like the sayings of Confucius. I believe that every profession and every university should have a code of ethics.

Most of Universities have it, code of ethics or code of conduct! Here are an examples. The Professional Ethics Committee makes sure that the Code of Ethics is being honored by teachers, associates and students of the University. The Code of Ethics is passed by the University Council at the proposal of the Professional Ethics Committee. The Council also adopts the Professional Ethics Committee Book of Rules, which closely defines the composition and the function of the Committee.

IIn my opinion that Industrial greed is now exceeding the ethics of scientific research. So, society must have roles to control this greed.

Greed, in turn, is a robust determinant of unethical behaviour that drives desires for material gain at the expense of ethical standards. Individuals motivated by greed tend to abandon moral principles in their pursuit of self-interest. A financial incentive caused people to be more willing to deceive and cheat others for personal gain. Greed leads to reduced concern for how one's behaviour affects others and motivates greater unethical action. Increased resources and independence from others cause people to prioritize self-interest over others’ welfare and perceive greed as positive and beneficial, which in turn gives rise to increased unethical behaviour. All people recognize some common ethical norms but different individuals interpret, apply, and balance these norms in different ways in light of their own values and life experiences. Clearly, scientific investigation has extended and enhanced the quality of life and increased our understanding of ourselves, our relationships with others, and the natural world. It is one of the foundations of our society’s material, intellectual, and social progress. Nonetheless, for material gain, such valuable scientific knowledge should not be pursued at the cost of ethical values.

As it is known the advertising is the soul of commerce, scientists want people to talk about them.

When there is trade, means that advertising has already happened, when there is no trade is because there has been no advertising .. it is the eternal conflict between ethics and economics: if a scientist wants to monetize its science must loosen the strings of his methodological rigor and application.

Making money is difficult with the real science, so much so that the real discoveries have produced economic fruits after the scientist who discovered them was already dead.

Similarly do science without money is also difficult especially when you need expensive tools and technical information. This is the dilemma: either to science without money and keep intact, or to reduce the inspiration of ethics and increase the bank account.

It seems cynical, but it is an inescapable problem of choice that each scientist, without exception, is called to solve or sooner or later. And no one can give the answer in his stead!

Thank you for you answer but look that some scientific inventions serves other purposes. Such as various military weapons, including biological and certainly is serving the greed of businessman.

Modern developments in science and technology have opened innumerable industrial and trade opportunities. There are chances of deception by way of misleading research findings, procedures and products for money-making by profiteer individual/group. Enforcing standards of honesty and encouraging openness about research and trade may be the best solutions to tackle ethical issues.
