Maintaining the oil level in the thermal circuit is important. If oil gets evaporated at a slower rate, after a period of time, there will be a lack of oil and need to be filled. But does this really happen? If it does happen, what are the measures to quantify this? If not, what is the concept behind it?
Thermal Enhanced Oil Recovery, like Cyclic Steam or SAGD, is prictized in application to Heavy Oil Recovery. At the surface level the pressure is the standard 1 atmosphere, the steam and water condensate Temperature is 100 C, and the recovered oil has themerature close to 100 C. Heavy Oils will lose the dissolved gases, largely CH4, but no other major components, which could be boiled out at this temperature.
Heat transfer fluids thermic fluids or thermal fluids get evaporated during couse of time. This depends on conditions prevailing like temperauture, pressure, etc. Evaporation rate can be calculated using basic mass and heat transfer principles
