For absorbance and emission measurements of nanoparticles dispersed nematic liquid crystal we dissolve sample into a particular solvent (like toluene, ethanol etc).

Anchoring condition at NP-LC interface will change if LC molecules and NPs (i.e. Donor & acceptor) are within the proximity. Emission and absorbance significantly depend upon the nature of the solvent and it's polarity also. You need to check all the factors carefully.
