I completed a DOE on an extrusion process and used a Taguchi Method. I am completely new at using this method and was slightly confused on the whole layout of the DOE but decided to proceed due to a deadline. I completed L8(2^4) array but I did not use noise factors because it is hard to control anything out on the production floor, plus we did not have 2 different lots of compound at the time. So I completed the trials without any noise factors in effect at the time. I need to put a report together and figure out the outcome of the trials but I am afraid I will not be able to complete the analysis without the noise factors. Can I still complete the analysis with out the use of the noise factors? I have a lot of data from all of my output variables. I thought I would still be able to find my SN ratio with the mean and standard deviation from my data? Any help at all would be much appreciated. Thanks!
You do not have to use noise factors in Taguchi method. You can use without it.
Kadir Aztekin I am trying to better understand when it is appropriate to use Taguchi without noise factors. Can you explain this to me. I appreciate any help very much.
