I am looking to complement a gene on the genome of K. pneumoniae. I can not complement in trans. Is there a region of the genome that people use to complement genes?
The "original" attB is the integration site for the phage lambda. But attB is now often used generically to define other phage integration sites as well. There are quite a few different "attB" sites in the E. coli genome, likewise there are quite a few in the Klebsiella genome that are similar to attB but I do not recall whether Klebsiella has the lambda attB specificially or not.
