Do kids with PANDAS grow up to retain symptoms in adulthood?

I've seen a number of kids over the years who had PANDAS; I don't have much follow-up information on them and don't recall seeing any in the literature. I assume their syndrome is different from that of kids with more typical OCD and tic disorders and that continuity of the syndrome may differ - but I don't know if that has been studied.

You were right. No long term prospective study on this subject but the theories are that

1. Overtime the body develops a natural immunity through a natural immunological maturing process

2. The thymus largely shut down at adulthood
