After some reading and plotting, I think I got it! The figure ZBSi.png shows the Pole figures for ZBSi. They clearly show some diffuse anisotropic background, which is typical for a single crystal, even though there are no Bragg reflections from silicon in ZBSi. I guess that this depends on where exactly we cut the reciprocal space with the Ewald sphere. I think that this diffuse anisotropic background is in charge of the specific shape of Body plots (A)-(C) observed in Figure org film anisotropy vs ZBSI anisotropy.png.The systematic presence of 'elephant ears' in (A)-(C) suggests a slight misalignment during measurement, but I incline to disregard the in-plane anisotropy observed for these specific 2Theta and ksi peaks for phi-scan. However, all this is unimportant against the background of the main observation - strongly anisotropic Bragg scattering on the organic film itself see (D-pannel of Figure org film anisotropy vs ZBSI anisotropy.png). The latter indicates the formation of ordered domains that are strongly anisotropic in shape, I would assume needle-like. The main point of the orientation distribution is the main bundle of such domains, small spikes are differently oriented small groups of needles. Thanks for reading these notes!
