Most of the tumor cells express multiple receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), and rely on their activation-dependent signaling for cell survival and proliferation. Meanwhile, all differentiated blood cell (including WBC, RBC and platelets) usually do not express RTKs. But, how about hemopoietic stem cells? Does anyone have an idea on RTK expression and activation in HSC? This issue is crucial to side effects of RTK inhibitor-based cancer therapy.
