I think it is difficult to define a personality in itself that may be attributed to what the educational system has reached now, but it can be attributed to a good number of theories and theoretical assumptions that have proved valid at the applied level as well as many successful educational models and experiments have adopted their approaches and methods in addressing the issues of education
Unfortunately that happens in some countries. You can see kickbaks when labs try to impose some new treatments or protocols. It does not happen with old protocols that have lost patent protection.
Having only 10 years of patent protection for investigational drugs that cost more than 1 billion to develop, leads big labs to try to maximize returns in the first years. A modification of the patent system is due, if we want to change this situation.
Research and development of new drugs should be under goverment control and not solely in private hands.
Yes. It happened. Mostly doctors tell the patient that he has the dealer outside the hospital and they sell the medicine for less price.
There are some chemo medicines, if we buy 9 chemos extra 4 will be free and dealers and doctors used to make profit from this. Actually chemotherapy is a failed method. No idea why doctors won't say the truth to the people . Cancer won't cure with chemo.
True. The corruption, unfortunately, is not out of the hospitals. It is found inside too. The pharma companies are eager to enter the clinics with their new drugs and the doctors are eager to have sponsorship from them to travel abroad for congresses. And the deal is arranged! The new drugs are prescribed widely, sometime even not necessary, and the doctors are on the plane (usually business class) and after that in a 5-star hotel in a nice place. I know a number of such cases and this is not an exclusion.
Yes, it is possible that prescribing high-cost drugs benefits oncologists, not long ago, close to half the revenues of an Oncology office came from providing and injecting drugs.
The crime of a physician having an agreement with a pharmacy to have an income from prescriptions has the name: 'Dichotomy'
Nearly half a century ago, in Spain, some Pharma sales representatives implemented a system called: 'Tarugo', physicians handed the salespersons the copy of social security prescription documents, and received a price in accordance.
I was told by a woman pharmacist, working as CRA, about an Oncologist receiving money in hand, and a common trick for 'fringe benefits' seems being organizing a congress, the physician in command receives money from lectures, and from accepting stands in the meeting place, also the hotel gives some 'kicks'.
With new anticancer drugs having costs in the range of $ tenths, hundred thousand per patient, the temptation is strong.
They said -Oral combined hormone drugs, aka the pill, acceptation was delayed in Japan because practitioners had revenues from abortions, that was the sole family planning method available in socialist places, some women from Eastern Europe that came to my office had a record of 5, 6, 7 abortions on them.
A few years ago, Pharma industry syndicate in Spain warned they spent over 230 million €uro in payments to practitioners, the HRA response was having the taxation authority considering invitation to professional meetings as to be added in the balance of income tax, later, they allowed this, but it can't be the more important way for briberies.
In the end, being fair is a personal active choice, as long as the payers don't feel abused, some crime in this line will exist, it's human nature.
Yes, doctors are definitely profiting from chemo, especially in two cases. Firstly, if they have a cancer which needs chemo according to reference guidelines, secondly, if they are oncologists, because delivering chemos are their job and they are getting their salaries for it. Regarding companies of Big Pharma, so called kickbacks are strictly prohibited by implemented compliance regulations.

To Mosab: I guess you are wrong, physicians having a part of the cost of cancer medication is standardized practice in some places, e.g, the USA, and when this is not done openly, there are surreptitious ways for briberies, for example, payments of trips and registration in congresses, or fees for having an stand in a congress organized by a physician with high economical decision power, or reprints from articles,..
I discussed before that it was reported one of the reasons of the delay in marketing of oral combined hormonal therapies, aka 'the pill', in Japan, this happened there later than in Spain, already approved by Spanish HRAs in 1972, was Japanese practitioners had incomes from making abortions.
Don't want to say this, but the medical head of a major Madrid teaching hospital told me, abot the Medical Specialization of Oncology: 'This is a Mafia'.
Yes it is, because of my criticism, I was blocked from practice, and had my relatives getting out of 'Lex Artis' -state of the art- therapies, about which they refuse to issue reports.
I can say this louder, but not more openly, of course, ethical, fair behavior is an individual decision, even if the surroundings can pressure towards acting properly or not, generalization is always a type of racism, prejudice, lack of respect of the principle of 'Presumption of innocence'.
I would like to express my opinion that the doctors do not get profits from chemotherapy at all. Therefore, I have dare published an article (please see file; Feed by Measure).
