Do all iron containing compounds show fluorescence in XRD with copper radiation or just the oxides of iron show this effect? Say for instance if i have pure tetracalcium aluminoferrite (C4AF) or any other multi element iron compound, will it show fluorescence with copper radiation source in xrd?

Dear Rajeev,
in that energy range of x-ray excitation (here Cu k-alpha) the K- and L-shell electrons of Fe are involved in the fluorescence process. Thus the x-ray fluoresecence here is a property of the Fe atom itself and not a property of the Fe compound (such as e.g. Fe Oxide); valence electrons are not involved. So all XRD samples which contain Fe atoms will exhibit Fe K-radiation fluorescence when exposed to Copper radiation.
