Hello! I am looking to study liquid-liquid equilibrium of palmitic acid in heptane-DMSO and heptane-acetonitrile. Palmitic acid is a solid at room temperature. How would I dissolve it in my solvents? Would it be possible to heat a known amount (lower than the highest solubility at the chosen operating temperature) and then mix them together? Thereafter, I would proceed with the LLE in a separatory funnel. I would really appreciate any help as I am quite worried.
