Hello. Can someone assist me with forming a research question and how to find suitable texts to conduct transitivity and modality analysis in Discourse Analysis?
Pelin Cramer, I am including the following open access articles, for your consideration.

As far as Transitivity is concerned, I can recommend this book:
Downing, A, (2006) "Chapter 4: Conceptualising patterns of experience", English grammar: a university course, 120-173, Routledge.
As for Modality, this is another book:
Eggins, S, (2004) "Chapter 6: The grammar of interpersonal meaning mood", in Eggins, S, An introduction to systemic functional linguistics, 141-187, Continuum International Publishing Group
I think you are more concerned with finding an appropriate object of study than with source materials, right? Well, I suggest you analyze something that interests you and/or something that is relevant in our society. For instance, yesterday I watched a presentation about the representation of gender in the current Brazilian president's public speeches during the beginning of the pandemic. I believe this to be an interesting and relevant topic. Anyway, you could take a look at some of the articles by Viviane Maria Heberle and see if you can find something that calls your attention.
