What is the difference between Step Method and Enter Method in using SPSS in regression Analysis

enter method is default in SPSS regression. All independent variables all included in the regression equation.
There need be criteria in step method. That means you need set probability of F (p-value) or F value for an independent variable to be entered into the regression equation or be removed. Firstly, just an independent variable in the regression equation. The independent variable with the smallest p-value which should be less than the criteria you have set will be entered into the equation. The next step, just another independent variable with the smallest p-value which should be less than the criteria you have set will be entered into the equation. Then do it again and again. In the process, if the p-value of the variable already in the equation more than the criteria to remove, it should be moved. The method terminates when no more independent variables can be entered or removed.
