Previously I used Worthington Collagenase type-2 for mouse dermal fibroblast isolation. Can I use Collagenase type-3 of the same brand for the same protocol?
Did anyone face a problem with different types of Collagenase for the same protocol?
The secondary proteases in collagenase 2 are considered to help in the dermal fibroblast isolation. These are very much reduced in collagenase 3, so it is not a simple substitution. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15723562/

Type 2 contains higher relative levels of protease activity, particularly clostripain. Type 3 contains lowest levels of secondary proteases.
