I am infecting phagocytic or non-phagocytic cells with bacteria and isolating the extracellular vesicles (which may contain both exosomes or microvesicles). I performed the TEM imaging of the isolated extracellular vesicles (attached below). However, I am confused about whether this is bacterial-derived, which they shed as outer membrane vesicles OR host-derived. Is there a way to differentiate by morphology?
