I noticed that in the weeks I ask or answer questions, my publications are viewed and downloaded significantly higher than other weeks!
for example, int he last week I just answered about 4 questions, my statisics increased significantly, see attached figures.
Perhaps this means that RG should not count answering and asking questions for calculating the RG score. this remove one of the cons of the RG score.

What I really don't understand is why publishing books doesn't grant you impact score. It is far more difficult and work consuming to publish a good selling book with ISBN, than a short article in a scientific journal. This is what I don't understand at all...

I have noticed that scores gained by Q & A dropped a little after the week in which I didn't have any relationship with Q and A.
I wonder why RG scores should be attached to QA such a lot. Shouldn't the citations be more important? Should citations of your own papers be more important to you than impact factors? I really wonder how much of QA is translated into real research questions? To myself, should my own research matter a lot more than never ending QA? From mobile.

RG statistics has nothing to do with RG score. It should have, of course. Regarding the relation of answering a good question and increasing statistics (number of downloads and number of publication views...), I think it is pure stochastic. Maybe, as you have shared your questions with many peers, they did go to your profile and got some interest with your publication. This may make sense if question you have asked is within your field of expertise.

I think that asking a good question or answering rightly do not matter strongly. What matter really, are the popular questions and mostly flattering or mainstream answers. Unfortunately, professional or specific questions do not attract many participants. The winning contributions are the general questions. Some of them are fine, witty with a scientific or cultural relevance but most of them are simple commonplaces. There are some, who answer with well-known sayings of famous people… I do not think this is a contribution of a thinking man on a scientific forum.
Most of the participants do not look the aspects they do not know but prefer the opinions similar to theirs.

I think, RG has got logic, but we do not know the preference of its operation.
Dear all the idea is not to increase the RG scores, it is the more you interact in this platform, the more you and your research become visible to the other fellows.
The scoring algorithm should be made transparent to the contributors. Otherwise this type of confusion is bound to prevail.
Sometimes, the score keeps sliding down for weeks in succession without any visible reason. For example, my score has been falling down for the last four consecutive weeks despite my responses to a number of questions coupled with a rise in citation.
Research Gate is a wonderful website for the scholarly scientific community. It is a place for free exchange of ideas/opinions and for teaching/learning in fields of interests.I learnt a lot from RG & I really value very much knowing excellent scholars from all corners of the world. Activity counts for RG score but the most pleasant side of the story for me is when an old man , like me, helps a young researcher & then I am told that my advice has worked. Fortunately, this happened many times ...so thanks RG.
I used to live under the microscope,that's why I don't believe in wonders.Scoring is a kind of book-keeper's countdown.In the long run,it doesn't matter.How can we measure nobility,hard work,experience,kindness,creativity,friendship or wisdom ? Quantity of publications, quality of our work,or our answers (cited ones are our thoughts too,but more beautiful and ancient, being a truth),which differ from country to country,because our political and economic situations and positions of us and our countries are different?I'm sure,I communicate with the best human beings of our chaotic world-solid,noble,friendly,intelligent,permissive,wise,and tolerant.I can find solidarity,support,wisdom,motivation,multicultural knowledge and values,critical cue here.
