Did you encounter cardiac arrest in a patient received dexmedetomidine as a sole sedative/anesthetic agent regardless of the dose administered ?
We didn't yet use dexmedetomidine as a sole sedative/anesthetic agent.
Same here did not see it yet and hope as Christopher said will never see it
I have seen few symptomatic bradycardia only but was curious if cardiac arrest is underreported

I have also noted that in the presence of bradycardia and hypotension, 5 -10 mgs of IV ephedrine easily reverses symptoms. (Of course, if the dexmedetomidine is the culprit)

I have been using dexmed infusion for sedation and analgesia in mastoid surgery. Whenever there is brady or hypotension (often encountered) I almost always reduce the rate of infusion for the time being until the desired level of hemodynamic stability is reached(often needed in those surgery).
I use every day for sedation and Anesthesia (OFA), however the only thing that I have had is bradycardia and mild hypotension.
