I want to extract DEM from cartosat 1 image with 2.5m resolution but the problem is that I have only one band i.e mono Ortho-kit BandA.tif band with associated RPC file.
Is it possible to extract DEM from this file alone?
If its not then what are the other possibilities of using this dataset in any other applications?
My main purpose is to make 3D model for urban area.
Is there anyone that could help me in this regard?
Considering your target, to make a 3D model of an urban area, you can have a "merge" approach.
Typical DEM files are related to parts of terrain, instead of a whole region. Therefore, to create a region with several DEM files, you can simply use a software like Maya, Blender (free) and place all the DEM files there. Typical overlapping will occur, however, you can remove duplicated edges and merge the DEMs into one single mesh.
You cannot extract DEM from a single (mono) image even if the RPC file is provided.
