may be you have some examples how to use read function in ww3 when I use unstructured grid and the wind fields a have on the same grid?

no worry about this u just read the wind fields as usual, all the interpolation business is done in the model itself.

Hi,
WW3 can read either ASCII or netcdf forcing input files on structured or unstructured grids. You can define the grid format in ww3_prep and ww3_prnc:
$ Format types : AI Transfer field 'as is'. (ITYPE 1)
$ LL Field defined on regular longitude-latitude or Cartesian grid. (ITYPE 2)
Please check regression test ww3_tp2.17 for unstructured wind, level and current example.

Thank you, Aron! I have a part of Altantic ocean, and part of Kara sea with 3 km resolution. And I cannot use structured winds grid on all area, because the data will be very big size((

The regression test tp2.17 contains netcdf example. If you want to use ASCII format (wind.txt), you simply can prepare a file like:

vn
where n is your grid node number.
