Flettening of pre strained film using COMSOL
the image is attached for reference which shows the deformed state of the film.
The geometry was imported from CAD file. I am using boundary load, and stationary condition. I want the load to act as If it totally flattens the film. The material chosen for film/sheet is a polymer. I have constrained one edge (smaller one) and kept the other free. I just want the film to become flat as the load acts on it. I have tried implementing another geometry for the flat surface over which this thin sheet will get flatten but I actually did not worked. Please help!!! I am new to COMSOL and I need help in this regard ASAP. Please let me know that in this simulation am I doing something terrible wrong or what?
This sounds to be an interesting problem and I have no experience in this field. But you appear to have a deformed but stress-free and unloaded membrane and you wish to find the support and loading conditions with which to flatten the membrane? It appears to be some form of inverse problem...
The first question is where does the deformed membrane come from? What is the purpose of this work...
