Ive noted when the sun is not at the Cenit the solar radiation is able to pass freely trought the lateral boundary (simetrical boundary condition) of the channel between two paralell plates, then the solar radiation trough the upper glass cover fof the channel is diminished by the absortion capacity of the glass.
I am not sure about Fluent, but I think there should be a way to assign the surface material properties (emissivity, absorptivity & transmitivity) for the plates in your model. Adjust them to achieve the desired opacity you require.
thank very much Jenson by your help, but really symmetric boundary condition can not be adjusted because they are not wall, then, material does not exist
Yeah that is what I doubted too. But, is replacing the symmetric model with a 3-D model adds more complexity to your simulation? may be a symmetric boundary condition is not good at computing radiative view factors.
Thank for your time. that is the problem, but i cant simulate the whole physical domain. simetry, as usual, is used to reduce the size model. i have one option, if i located the sun perpendicular to the upper surface the problem with simetrical boundary doesnt exist any more, but of course that happens just for one time of the day.
