I am now trying to create dummy variables for the regression analysis in SPSS. I have three IVs (Deliberation, Communication and Information) and a DV. I used 5 Likert scales (Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree, Strongly Disagree).
So, how to create dummy variables with 5 Likert scales?
I am not sure if your independent variables are cateogrical. You need to dummify your independent variables not your dependent variable.
If you wish to use regression menu then you must create dummy variables manually by recoding your categorical variables. Use recode variables menu to create dummy variables.
There is a way to do regression without making dummy variables. Using General Linear model -> Univariate menu you can just send your categorical variables into some Factors box and SPSS automatically dummify them and makes regression. This is a bit trickier.

I just wonder how it works with five likert scales. How to convert five likert scales into 0 & 1!
I do not understand what you want to do. If you have a categorical variable with 5 levels, you create 4 dummy variables. Lets say you want to create a dummy for "Strongly Agree". Use Recode menu and recode your categorical variable into 0 and 1 where it is 0 for all choices except "Strongly Agree" and 1 for only "Strongly Agree". That way you create 4 dummy variables for consecutive 4 levels.
I have used similar Likert scale and used 1-Strongly Disagree, 2- Disagree, 3-Neutral, 4-Agree and 5-Strongly Agree. Then we used used quantitative statistics to calculate measures of central tendency for the independent variables under study.
