I have a bent square beam. I want ansys to create a path for drilling a hole along the entire length of bended beam (whilst keeping the hole in centre of the beam along its entire length). is it possible to do this in ANSYS mechanical? Can I somehow use a UDF to find the best path along the beam to drill a hole?
I don't know much about ANSYS.But there is an array option in ANSYS built in modeler which can be used to generate multiple objects of same size. May b holes can be done in the similar fashion. Thank you.
Thank you for getting back to me Claudio Pedrazzi. Consider a beam like the one attached below. The hole in the beam is right in centre of the beam cross section along it's entire length. Now my question is that I will supply the beam as geomerty in ANSYS but without the hole in it. I want ansys to MAP the geometry of the beam and create a hole in it that is exactly in the middle of the cross-section of the beam along the entire length of the beam automatically. I am guessing ill have to define a UDF with DEFINE_EXECUTE_ON_LOADING MACRO but I don't know what MACROS to use to write a UDF that fulfills the purpose defined above. Any help would be really appreciated.
