Hey,
i am currently simulating the rockwell test on a Diamond coated Substrate (2D). I am interested in the Delamination process, but also the crack Initiation and Propagation within the Coating. I managed to simulate a crack in the Coating using the XFEM enrivonment, but unfortunately the Simulation Aborts after 2 cells have been seperated by the crack. I would like the Simulation to Keep running until the end - or at least a bit longer so i can see how the crack develops over time.
I am using Maxps Damage, Power Law for Damage Evolution and a stabilization coefficient.
I would like to know what are the Parameters for me to Change in order for the Simulation to Keep running.

Thank you R. Nikhil and Kristopher Orlowski for the answers. I tried remeshing it and discontinous Analysis is on as well. I am working with very Little increments so i don't think that is the Problem.
Do you guys think changing the model from force controlled to displacement controlled could do the trick? Unfortunately my model still Aborts when the crack Begins to develop.

Since the Rockwell Test is a force controlled procedure by nature my plan is now to simulate it without a crack (so the Simulation runs through) in order to get the displacements in y and then prescribe this displacement in another Simulation. Wouldn't that be a bit unrealistic though since i will be prescibing displacements that occur on the specimen without considering cracks?
