Hi, I am wondering whether evolution of DNA molecule would have been influenced by the gravitational curvature of space-time continuum giving DNA molecule a double helical shape. Any comments are welcome.
Since bone density is impacted by prolonged exposure to microgravity, and as I recall, Brian Clegg's book, Gravity, mentions other problems, I would expect the human body to have developed differently, so I'd say that makes the answer "Yes."
I would have to disagree with previous answers. Microgravity might have an effect on macro-structures or even individual cells but Chromosomes? I doubt it. remember that they are in a protein soup. They do know where bottom is, but barely. That's not to deny that chemical life will not be possible in high G and probably evolution does depend on some sort of macromolecules ppt, but to invoke a special role of gravity in evolution by DNA G sensing is a big stretch in my opinion. In another words, I think that DNA gravity sensing would not play any role in chemical evolution, and would be not influenced by G range of 0.1-10 G may be 100G. It's another matter that organisms will develop differently, - say stronger skeletal structure in high gravity etc. but that due to cellular/organism G sensing, not DNA. Just an opinion, of cause. :)
Amrit, sure, there are no possibility for earth like chemical life on neutron star. I think, people talking about influence of 1G on DNA evolution. I think it is important to have some Gs for a particle precipitation in early chemical evolution for some sort of macromolecules assemblage. But that's about it. After forming elementary life forms - DNA exists in macromolecule soup and, I think, it barely knows where bottom is. I might be wrong. :)
Thank you Mohamed El Naschie, James R Knaub, Dmitry Guschin and Amrit Sorli for such a nice learned comments and discussions. I am actually thinking of Chemical evolution and particularly DNA evolution which took place on the Earth in the space-time continuum which in turn is distorted and curved by the the Sun's large gravitating mass. :-)
Yes, I have published some papers in this subject. I showed that DNA can be affected by the acceleration. I argued that that the acceleration of DNA can be generate cancer.
I write some papers in this subject; however i didn't find any journal which be expert in this field of science. Now, if one biologist join me, we can investigate exactly on this subject. You can see for example:doi: 10.11648/j.ejb.20130102.11
A. Sephery - You are absolutely right that no journal is paying attention to this field of science. But I am sure that one day this field of science will become a focus of attraction. I am basically from the field of biology and in my opinion there is an underlying unifying rule or force between the different disciplines like biology, physics, astronomy, chemistry etc. I think that knowing the biology better will solve many mysteries of the universe better. My proposition is that an extensive and well co-ordinated work between different types of microscopes and telescopes could be able to reveal more mysteries enveloping the microcosm and macrocosm.
The organization of life is key to the organization of physical universe. The correlation of the genetic code (DNA) with the Solar System in particular and with the universe in general observed during my present investigation clearly implies that coding of DNA molecule has been very meticulously planned and regulated, because DNA has evolved in a four dimensional space-time continuum which is influenced, curved and distorted by gravity.
Thank you very much for your information. I investigated about application of Gravity in biology two years ago and published some papers hardly for example, the acceleration of DNA may generate cancer. Then, i missed my hope and focus on my works in cosmology. Please introduce papers that show genetic code is similar to solar system. Also, my email is:[email protected]. Each biologist or physicist that like to contribute with me in one comon work in this subject, please mail to me. I usually work with different scientists of world.
Thank you very much for your lively, interesting and valuable discussion. Some fields of science particularly related to cosmology/astronomy are largely ignored. One of my research paper entitled ' EVOLUTION AND RELATION OF MICROCOSM AND MACROCOSM' showing correlation between Genetic Code and Solar System is posted on ResearchGate. I am sending you the Link
