Dark matter is not need to explain the EM drive. The drive is just making interference patterns of a curl free vector potential stress energy propagate in one direction, while conserving momentum.
Interference patterns don't produce thrust. The ``EM drive'' is just electromagnetic radiation, whose source is the antenna. Dark matter doesn't have electromagnetic interactions.

No faster than light issues are relevant-just energy and momentum conservation of the combined system: electromagnetic radiation goes one way, leaving the box, the box goes the other way. Just goes to show why it's not very useful, in practice, to use electromagnetic waves to propel macroscopic objects.
