Hereby I am explaining the detailed procedure which i done in my lab. 1:1 molar ratio of 2-amino benzothiazole and 4-nitro benzaldehyde were refluxed for 12hr at 100 degree Celsius in toluene solvent. It was a colourless solution when reaction started. After 5 hr reaction mixture turned bright yellow coloured solution. Sometimes when I do the reaction I cant continuously refluxed because of power cut. Is this cause any difficulty to get product? I checked the TLC, but I have noticed that both aldehyde and amine are present in product. 3 spots were observed. How can I get pure product with no aldehydes and amines. Shall i increase the reaction time? Or any other technique for getting my product? If I have unreacted aldehyde in my product how can I eliminate it? Please help me

Thanking you
