As a family doctor I am familiar with the somatization of psychological distress: headache, chronic pain, dyspnea, digestive symptoms ... but I barely see the genuine conversion symptoms (or functional neurological symptoms): weakness / pseudoparalysis, pseudoconvulsions, fainting, amnesia, paresthesias ... I currently have a young female patient with a severe chronic anxiety disorder who has begun to show symptoms of this type.

In your experience, what is the optimal approach to this disorder? Can you provide me with updated references?
