No. Contributer is a person, society, research center, or donator but co-auther is an actual partner in preparing, writing, analyzing, submitting your propoed paper.

My thinking is simillar to Emad Kamil Husseint's.

A contributor may be a co-author and beyond that while a co-author is actually invloved in the authorship of the manuscript

If we talk about publication, then according to me contributor is the first author who actually contributed the idea of article and Co-authors are the authors who have supported and help in the framing and making of the article. Many a times co-author may be the guide in our research work.
