Some restaurants make use of robots to perform tasks such as delivering food and drinks to the table. Do you prefer traditional or automated/robotic restaurant?

I really want to know how automated food restaurants are deployed in developed countries.

So far, I have only visited a few Japanese restaurants that use the sushi delivery bot. I think the control mechanism is very simple as long as the location of each table is known. The paths are pre-planned.

Traditional restaurants will be better, because if you are hungry then you will not have the patience for the automatic response.

I think the biggest danger of automation is deploying it too quickly, if we were to make a snap decision to automate everything overnight, the system would collapse with thousands of people out of work. So while my preference overall would be for an automated environment powered by renewable energy and operating optimally, I think it will be important to move there slowly. Changes need to be made to our economies and societies before we are ready for a complete overhaul.

Most restaurants in my country use the classical delivery method. The sushi path planning delivery bot used in Japanese restaurants is a nice concept. Thank you so much for sharing photo of the Sushi bot.

I prefer convectional/traditional mode of serving but in this era of 4th industrial revolution, robotic restaurant will be appreciated so that one will not be left behind.

Thank you so much distinguished Prof. Mirroslaw Grzesik, my team is currently developing a flexible, intelligent and versatile material handling system capable of delivering materials from source to destinations automatically by avoiding collision with human workers with the help of proximity detector which triggers the robot to stop as long as there is an obstacle on its way, thus avoiding accidents. On completion of this research, I plan to develop a modular robot that will be useful in restaurants, thus the question.

Humanity was founded on social relations, no one can live alone. For sure robot can help in all the aspects of life but still humans will always need people to communicate with. Human interaction does not provide service only, it goes more than that to satisfy our internal need to communicate with others. Restaurants and other retails are required to be automated by a hybrid organization that includes both robots and humans to provide services on different levels.
