The scientific researcher can not be successful researcher unless he or she has practical experience and the same thing for the expert must adopt scientific research

I do feel that teachers can and should be involved in action research. This aspect of learning through deliberate and methodical reflection is a big part of my doctoral work.
I have included links to an article and to my doctoral work.
The school teachers generally are not equipped with the necessary skills to perform action research. But, if provided proper training, they can solve many issues which remain untouched many a times just because they don't get the attention of an outsider (not a school teacher, but some researcher). And you have raised a question which can lead to the proposition that action research should be a skill present in a school teacher, which may better the school education involving classroom processing and co-curricular aspects, as and when required. And recently, Indian Teacher Training Course (Bachelor of Education) included this in the curriculum. So.. the hopes are there.
IN a sense they are action researchers, but in my experience most limit themselves to superficial experimentation. They are not risk takers. The reason I think is that most teachers of adolescents are under a lot of political pressure to do what governments think is right. It takes a strong or very confident teacher to step outside the prescribed procedures.
You hit the main point. It is the training matter that our teachers need . It is the responsibility of colleges that it is obliged to provide student- teachers with research skills needed to do their researches by themselves. Thank you so much for your enriching answer.
You are absolutely right dear Mark E Gould. I like the the expression " they are not risk takers" which is very real. Thank you so much for your enriching answer.
Yes...but it requires lots of work...school teachers deal with many classes and lots of students. Usually student-centered approach works for elementary school teachers and college professors. Here we are talking about inductive learning, not deductive lecturing, etc. god luck.
Your note is very good. But still we can say that if they gain enough training, they find time to apply their researches specifically if these researches related directly to their classes and medium of teaching.
That is right. But sometimes it is the school orientation that their teachers must have the ability to be good researchers. Thank you so much for sharing your valuable opinion.
Yes, they can. We even offer an Action Research course for our in-service teachers. I've had several grad students who have conducted excellent action research projects.
Wonderful news dear Daniel Fasko. I feel happy when hearing such nice information about the professional development of teachers. Thank you so much for your enriching answer.
Of course teachers can be excellent action researchers. They do research every day through formative assessment - looking at where their students are in relation to a skill set, and then problem solving to discover ways to move each student toward their targeted goal. The challenge for classroom teachers in the research process is finding the time to collate and share what they are learning and thinking. Additionally, academia may need to "bend a little bit" to find ways to access the teacher knowledge that, for the most part, is untapped and often discounted. Perhaps partnerships with universities or other research institutions would be an option.
The answer is in your question ((College instructors ,by the nature of their jobs ,are action researchers)). I agree with your question and it is a must that college instructor is a good action researcher. If this is not happen the term College instructor is a must to change it.
As you mentioned, no doubt related to college instructors but the question mainly related to school teachers. Can they become good action researchers or there are doubts in relation to this matter. Thank you so much dear doctor for your answer.
I am so sorry dear Dr. Liqaa for my incomplete answer because school also might refer to collage. Regarding the school teacher as it obvious you mean teacher for primary or secondary schools, I think for those it is difficult for them to be action researchers unless they have high motivation to be researchers.
Yes is conditional, appropriate to the development levels of the students, all of whom are different. I had some very good teachers in lower schools, most of whom were qualified to teach in universities. The schools require continuing education for the teachers which brings them in middle age to masters degrees and in old age to doctorates.
Action research is appropriate for school teachers because it facilitates a process of continuous learning on the side of the teacher, basing on lived experiences and interactions with colleagues, learners and the school environment. It can also help teachers adjust to the teaching and learning contexts of specific schools
Amazing participation dear Dr.Khansaa. I like this post as it clarifies the main steps in conducting action research. Thank you so much for your answer.
Hello Liqaa - All teachers should think of themselves as being action researchers, concerned to perpetually ask themselves the question, Did that lesson/teaching intervention/new way of teaching that topic/that unit work? How do I know? What evidence have I got for that? In Australia there has been a recent policy emphasis placed in initial teacher education to encourage both pre-service teachers and teacher education institutions to try to evidence the 'impact' of teaching interventions (See the attached paper that I drafted with colleagues delineating the landscape of this impact environment). It further underlines that all teachers can benefit from conceiving of themselves as action researchers.
I have attached some other papers that may help too. This has been a popular strand!
Best wishes.
Peter

I think that every teacher, in any stage, should be action researcher because this kind of research will enrich the teaching process and find solutions to many problems in class.
Thank you so much for your enriching answer. You are utterly right that each teacher supposed to be a researcher of his situation. I highly appreciate your rich answer and I would like to thank you for sharing these valuable articles.
I highly appreciate your active participation. You are right dear. I think it an obligation to be action researchers to follow the problems and difficulties in class. Thank you so much for your valuable answer.
Certainly yes, I have been teaching action to pre-service, some whom had zero research experience and by the end of the semester produce high quality action research. They have the capacity and the ones familiar with the teaching and learning context.
You are utterly right. Training preservice teachers to action researchers is really fruitful process since they will be ready to apply it in real situations. Thank you so much for sharing your valuable experience.
