I have one doubt about the well plates used for cellular antioxidant assays: this method can only be perfomerd in black opaq well plates with clear bottom or I can use normal black opaq plates for fluorecest measurements? In some articles they mention the use of the first kind of plates and I am not sure if it will work or not in normal black opaq plates (which are cheaper).

Dear Vitor; It all depends on what results you want out of the assay. Obviously you reply saying "quantitation". Well thats not the answer. You must have some things like permissible limits of tolerance and SD as per your work and if it fits in that then the normal black opaque plates should be sufficient.
Dear Vitor, usually we use the first kind. But you should make sure that the fluorescent equipment you used can read the fluorescent values above the wells if you used the normal black plate. If not, you'd better use the first kind. Hope it answers your question.
